Tigger tries to escape

The repeated scratching and deep growling reverberated around the room and made me look up.
Tigger, our inquisitive cat had wedged herself in the small gap by the door.  Her chocolate caramel swirl fur looked like melting ice-cream seeping through the gap.  White whiskers trembles and twitched as her paw repeatedly swiped at the door.
Tigger’s face was contorted as she kept pushing through the gap and her teeth looked like vicious needles ready to bite.
I sat there smiling at the sight and wondered if I should help her get through.

Storm like a wild monster

On Tuesday night a great battle began and I was in the middle.

Olive trees bent dangerously to the ground like ancient ballet dancers.  The gusting wind grabbed greedily at the window panes, blowing them in and out like a set of lungs.
Lights flickered!
I knew that the monster was awiting to pounce.
Lioghtening flashed accross the sky, lighting up the darkness.  The terrible growl of thunder echoed around for ages making me nervous.

Was I safe?  Would my house stand strong or blow over like so many domino trees with umbrella roots?
What would I see in the morning wehen the sun rose?

Happy harvest - from my garden.

I visited The Secret Garden this morning and everything has been GROWING!  We will have to harvest the last of the allotments then dig them all over and begin again.  You should have seen the weeds!

Yesterday I took my Christmas present out into the garden and picked lots of produce.  Can you recognise anything in my basket?  I wonder how many different plants we can name in comments below.  Isabella, I know you are watching and will be the first to respond.  Who else is checking out the blog before school?

Bonus points for anyone who can tell me what this type of basket is called!

Lost and found!

The forgetful teacher put down a laptop by the photocopier and left it under a pile of school books.  At 3pm we all panicked that it was missing and checked in every little place it might be.

STOP PANICKING it has been found and will be ready for heaps of learning challenges on Monday.

Teacher Home Learning

I have been learning how to use 'I Can Animate' with my new little stamp characters. I put the sequence into iMovie and added music. Could we add a narration to tell the story of an extinct animal or our adapted animal? How else could we use this cool tool? You could bring some small soft toys or Lego characters to have a go this next week.

Don't forget that teachers are learners too!

Waka Paddle

Our whole school has a big waka in the library.  Every person in the school is designing their own waka paddle so we can work as a team.

This is my waka paddle.  It shows my mountain, river and family.  It also shows that I love blogging, my cats and reading.
