Beginner Ukulele Lessons

Thanks to Carol who visited our third ukulele lesson ever and took some video of our song.  We are getting better at changing chords and remembering to sing at the same time as playing!

Remember to check out our other favourite player of the ukulele.

Waiata - National Anthem

AkoAroha and her wonderful class use this to begin each day.  It uses our three National Languages - Māori, NZ Sign and English.  I am sure if we struggle to learn the sign that they will help us out!

My own music - senior choices

Sophie has been creating her own music during senior choices on the iPad. Have a listen and give her a comment.

The challenge was to use Garageband's Sampler 'instrument' to record some sounds, trim and edit these, play them on the iPad keyboard, and then record and layer them together to create a brief sound pattern with some beat. It was a lot of fun! The first piece was only allowed to be 'instruments' from the Sampler. The next piece could include other instruments. Students were only given around 10 minutes to put these together - so Sophie has done a great job.

Memorial Assembly

Today we had an assembly to remember the earthquake and the people who got hurt.  We thought of all the things that have stayed the same and remembered how lucky we are.  The end of our assembly we had James Beck and Christian sing us their song.  Check it out!
