Carol - our ICT expert

Isabella wanted to tell you about Carol our ICT expert.  She comes into school for two days a week to work on things like robotics, animation and using iPads effectively.  She also works for YooBee/NATCOLL in schools around Christchurch.  We have been very lucky to get training with her this term.

I Can Animate Training

Some of our class went for a training session with Carol to learn how to animate.  It was more challenging than we thought.  First you had to write a story and make a backdrop.  You had to take the shots and we haven't even finished yet.  We will tell you about our top tips for animation soon but check out our pictures.

Check out what Isabella found!

On her holiday in the North Island, Isabella found some very large caterpillars and butterflies.  I have posted the butterfly image that she sent me.

Isabella has completed one of her Term 2 ICT challenges by e-mailing something to us at school.  You could get a head-start on yours by writing her an effective comment.

Build your WILD SELF!

Here is another way to make a mini-you or an avatar for the blog.  This is what I came up with!

Step 1: Go to http://buildyourwildself.com and create your Wild Self.

Step 2: E-mail your creation to our class e-mail address:
room6@springston.school.nz
and we will use them when we get back to school.  Do this by using the "Send to friend" option. Make sure you include your name at the top of the Wild Self so we know who you are!

Have heaps of fun - I know I did.

Make your own avatar

I have payed around with this website  - Mess Dudes - to make my own avatar - or imaginary person to put on the blog.

Have a go yourself but make good choices so your little person represents you.   Click on this link to have a go yourself.

We will give it a go when you get to school - in just three weeks!
